How Shuffle derives a Mines result

From float to result

Each float is multiplied by the number of tiles still unassigned, and that tile is removed from the pool (Fisher-Yates). The first N draws are the mines, where N is the mine count you chose. Tiles are numbered left to right, top to bottom.

What to compare

The board below should match the revealed board in your bet history exactly, including tiles you never clicked.

Where the seeds are

Open the bet in your history on Shuffle. The client seed and nonce show immediately. The unhashed server seed appears only after you rotate your seed pair, so rotate first, then verify every bet from the old pair.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the mine layout change while I play?

No. All mine positions are fixed by the seeds and nonce when the bet is placed. Revealing tiles reads them; it does not roll them.

Why does changing the mine count change the layout?

The first draws are the same for any count (the set for 3 mines is a prefix of the set for 5), so a 5-mine board contains the 3-mine board plus two more.

Which Shuffle algorithm does this use?

Shuffle Help Center, Provably Fair: Implementation + Game Events, read 2026-09-20. The byte stream is HMAC-SHA256 of clientSeed:nonce:round keyed by the server seed, converted to 4-byte floats, then mapped to every mine on the 5x5 board.

Do my seeds leave the browser?

No. The HMAC and SHA-256 run with the Web Crypto API on your device. The share link carries the seeds only because you copied it.
